Christie Speaks In Washington D.C.

Posted: Updated:
New Jersey's Chamber of Commerce participated in its Walk to Washington event this week, with the event’s main attraction being Chris Christie addressing the commerce as the keynote speaker in the nation’s capital. Christie started off his remarks in the same manner as his recent town halls held within the state. Pension reform and property tax caps were key issues that Christie addressed early on, but it’s what he stated later that made him seem more like a presidential candidate than a keynote speaker. During his speech Christie spoke to what he believes is the best thing about being Governor.

“The best thing about being Governor is that I know I have a chance to do something great," Christie said.

These remarks then lead into a discussion about America as a whole, making Christie seem even more like a top presidential contender.

"The opportunity is to make New Jersey both actually and symbolically an example of civic-mindedness, self-sacrifice, and American greatness that can lead an example for our entire country," Christie stated.

At the end of his speech, Christie was met with a standing ovation for his remarks. At one point, the audience broke into applause where Christie responded humbly.

"This speech is not about me coming here and patting you on the back and telling you how great you are, and I’m not here for you to tell me that either," Christie concluded.

From a networking perspective, this visit boasts well for the governor, and brings him ever closer to a potential presidential run.

StubHub, which is a website that provides services for buyers and sellers for tickets to sporting events, concerts, and other live entertainment events, has been hacked. StubHub is getting a lot of bad press, but the site is really the victim here. The hackers have hacked accounts from other sites, and then used that information to get into the StubHub accounts.
