Historic Detroit apartments to receive massive makeover

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -- Several blighted buildings in Detroit's Midtown neighborhood will soon look like new.

Groundbreaking is expected at four buildings in the Cass-Davenport Historic District, an area first developed in the early 1900s near Cass Ave. and Martin Luther King Blvd.

FOX 2's Roop Raj reports the project will create 47 housing units.

Mayor Mike Duggan is expected to be at Thursday's groundbreaking ceremony.

Raj says the project will cost around $17 million and create nearly 275 jobs.
