A customer takes down potential thief who tried to rob a Florida CVS.
Here's surveillance video from the CVS pharmacy in Sarasota.
Police say Freddie Johnson, 56, is seen here, with his face covered and holding his hand in his pocket- implying he had a gun.
Johnson allegedly demands the employee to hand over prescription drugs including oxycodone.
The worker hands Johnson the drugs, but before he could get away a customer notices what's happening.
The good samaritan steps in, grabs Johnson and holds him until police arrive.
Cops say Johnson did not have a gun but he is still facing one count of armed robbery.
Johnson is also charged in the robbery of another pharmacy back in February.
Police say they applaud the actions of that quick thinking customer but do not encourage members of the public to try to stop crimes in progress themselves.
