GANSLER: ELIMINATE PROSECUTORS - Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler is proposing to eliminate the state prosecutor's office, the independent agency that secured a string of high-profile political convictions. Gansler is running for governor says it's "a holdover from the Watergate era" that overlaps with other offices and said scrapping it would save taxpayers as much as $1.2 million a year. But others called the proposal cause for concern, saying the agency's independence puts it in a unique position to prosecute government or electoral wrong-doing.

OBAMA JOBS GRANT - 3:00 p.m. For all The White House trumpeting of the improved economy unemployment remains stubbornly high at 6.7%. President Obama spent most of 2010 traveling the country talking about how stimulus spending was needed to lower unemployment, but in 2014 he's still at it. This time it's not stimulus money but $600 million in new competitive grants to spur creation of targeted training and apprenticeship programs that could help people land well-paying jobs. This money is targeted at Community Colleges like Montgomery College, Northern Virginia Community College &Prince George's Community College.

CAMPAIGN LIES - Are lies protected Free Speech? Should lying in campaign ads just par for the course, or should it be against the law? Negative campaigning may be a fact of life in American politics, but can false accusations made in the heat of an election be punished as a crime? The question is coming to DC as the Supreme Court is preparing consider a challenge to an Ohio law that bars false statements about political candidates during a campaign. Groups on both the left and right are criticizing the law as a restriction on the First Amendment right to free speech.

CLARENDON MILLENNIALS - So where's a young upwardly mobile young person to live? A poll of the best places to live for for millennials has out Arlington County, Virginias Clarendon area as is the best spot for young people in the DC area. The survey, from Niche.com, says Washington ranks No. 3 on the "25 Best Cities and Neighborhoods for Millennials" list. The rankings include what Niche calls each region's best neighborhood for the millennial demographic, and Clarendon is tops in the D.C. area. Data on income, rent, education, diversity and the percentage of the population between 25 and 34 years old were used in the city rankings.
