Phoenix police have released the names of a couple found dead after a homicide-suicide in west Phoenix near 77th Avenue and McDowell Road.

Officer James Holmes says a man called 911 and told operators he killed his wife late Sunday night.

When police arrived, Holmes says a 33-year-old woman found dead with a gunshot wound. The victim was later identified as Angelina Collier.

Her three young children, ages 1, 3 and 12, were found asleep and unharmed.

Police later found 32-year-old Robert Collier dead inside his car near Indian School and 15th Avenue. Investigators believe he killed Angelina and drove about 10 miles before fatally shooting himself.

A friend of the couple's told FOX 10 they were going through a divorce, but they don't know why he would kill her.

The children remain in the custody of Arizona Child Protective Services.
