70 degree streak reaches the top 20

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Since November 17th, 2013 Chicago has seen only 2 days where the mercury has climbed at or above 60 degrees.

How about Chicago's last 70 degree day? You have to go back 178 days to October 12, 2013. That streak is now tied for 17th longest on record.

Here's a list of the longest streaks on record for consecutive days below 70 degrees:

                       181           4/10/1890

                       181           4/19/1885

17                   178           4/16/1937

                       178           4/12/1924

                       178           4/27/1901

                       178           4/ 8/2014*

There is a slight chance we could see 70 this Saturday, but early next week high temperatures fall back into the 40s with lows in the 20s and 30s.

It doesn't look good beyond our 7 day forecast with days 8 through 14 expected to be colder than normal.
