I scream, you scream: It's Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's

Posted: Updated:
Three words to brighten your Tuesday?  FREE ICE CREAM.  It's Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's, and we've got the scoop (get it?) on how to get yours!

Free Cone Day also marks the ice cream chain's anniversary.  In 1978, Ben and Jerry opened their first ice cream scoop shop in Burlington, Vermont inside a renovated gas station.  A year later, they celebrated their one-year anniversary by holding the first ever Free Cone Day... and it's been happening ever since.

On Tuesday, April 8, you can grab your own free scoop at participating Ben & Jerry's locations across the world!  It's happening from 12 pm to 8 pm.  If you work fast, you might even have time for two stops!

Here's a list of some Ben & Jerry's locations around the DC area (NOTE: The Union Station location is NOT participating):

It was commuter confusion out on Interstate 66 Monday morning. Drivers heading eastbound towards Washington D.C. wound up seeing their traffic lanes suddenly turn into a mess. Lane stripes somehow pulled away from the road surface and created a mess of tangled tape and lanes that didn't make sense.

It goes by the name Wax, Butter and Honeycomb on the streets, and it can pack a kick equal to 15 to 20 joints of marijuana. The new drug looks and feels like lip balm. It's made from the oils of marijuana plants and has a high level of THC - the chemical that produces a high.
