Posted: Updated:

Police responded to reports of gun shots at a local Chinese food take out restaurant at 3409 E. Cambria St. in North Philadelphia around 2 a.m.

The crime scene tells an interesting story of an armed robber and a female accomplice who entered the store who were fought off by the three customers waiting in line.

The struggle continued until the robber dropped the weapon, but one customer was struck twice in the side during the struggle. The 50-year-old man was transported to Temple University Hospital.

The gunman and his accomplice fled in a Dodge Durango, leaving the weapon behind. The target of the robbery is still uncertain, but one customer suggested that the ATM in the store may have been a driving reason for the attempted robbery.

Police are expected to release more information about the suspect following their investigation.
