HOLDER MARIJUANA DECRIMINALIZATION - 10:00 a.m. Is U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder about to make an announcement on Justice Department policy regarding marijuana decriminalization and legalization? Just yesterday Maryland lawmakers voted to make pot possession a civil crime. Today Holder will testify before the House Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill. Virginia Congressman and Chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte will lead the questioning. Live from the House Rayburn Office Building, Room 2141 http://judiciary.house.gov

OBAMA PAYCHECK FAIRNESS - 11:45 a.m. If you think in 2014 men and women have truly gotten on equal footing in the workplace, think again especially when it comes to pay. The Labor Department says women on average make only 77 cents for every dollar that a man makes. For African-American and Latina women, the number is even less. Women now make up half of the American workforce. Down at The White House President Obama will launch a new effort to pass the long stalled Paycheck Fairness Act. The bill increases enforcement of equal pay laws with additional steps to close the gap in wages.

FAIRFAX SCHOOL CUTS - Parent and School officials are squaring off over massive budget cuts in Fairfax County. The School Board is proposing a $2.5 billion budget. But while it does have $41 million in raises for teacher raises, it also has a whopping $96 million in cuts. Under the plan Fairfax County Schools would cut 731 school staff positions. Parents aren't happy about the cuts, but they are also concerned about one of the proposed solutions: a $50 or $100 possible property tax hike. The Board has 2 days of hearings to listen to public I put as it moves forward on what to do.

VIRGINIA ETHICS BILL - In the wake of Former Gov. Bob McDonnell Federal indictment, lawmakers in Richmond and the new Governor Terry McCauliffe promised a stiff new ethics law for Virginia's state politicians. That's not quite what they did. A watered down bill passed that disappointed critics. Yesterday McAuliffe added 22 amendments to the bill, none of them made the the law tougher than what the Virginia House and Senate had voted for. Most of he changes fixed drafting mistakes. The Governors own spokesman released a statement saying he was "disappointed" he couldn't do more but that he didn't want to dismantle what lawmakers had done.
