PHILADELPHIA -

School district officials have bulked up security at a high school in Southwest Philadelphia.

Bartram High School now has four additional police officers following a series of violent incidents. One event occurred a few weeks ago, when a 17-year-old student allegedly grabbed a 63-year-old administrator.

The student pushed the administrator into a wall and knocked him out, authorities said. The student attempted to run but was detained and the administrator was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

Violence at Bartram has been the subject of reporting by The Philadelphia Inquirer.
