NASA releases images of solar flare

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

NASA has released some awesome images of a solar flare that erupted earlier this week.

A NASA observatory captured the solar event on Wednesday. Scientists are calling it a mid-level solar flare, which consisted of massive bursts of radiation.

Since the flares cannot pass through the Earth's atmosphere, they are harmless to humans.

However, they can disrupt signals of communication, as well as GPS.
