CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A south suburban Richton Park man has been charged with impersonating a police officer after he tried to enter a Chicago Public Schools building without proper identification.

Brandon Salvatore, 22, of the 22800 block of South Lakeshore Street, was charged with one count of false impersonation of a federal employee and one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon without a concealed carry license, according to a statement from Chicago police.

Salvatore was arrested about 11:15 a.m. Thursday in the 10300 block of South Elizabeth Street after he entered a CPS building. He claimed to be a U.S. Marshall "but was unable to produce proper credentials," police said.

He is scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.
