MILITARY REPORT ATTACK WARNING - The latest Fort Hood Shooting comes just 2 weeks after a Pentagon report on the Washington Navy Yard shooting, warned the military had to tighten base security nationwide. The scathing report said military officials had done little to prepare for an "insider-attack" scenario to their training, and strengthening ties to local police. Defense Secretary Hagel ordered the report. Asked about security improvements in the wake of the latest shootings, Hagel said "Obviously when we have these kinds of tragedies on our bases, something's not working."

MONEY LIMITS STRUCK DOWN - If you're a person who say "there's too much money in politics" you're going to be saying that a lot more. The US Supreme Court has struck down limits in how much people can give to campaigns. In Maryland and DC that means big changes. Maryland and DC have laws limiting contributions. In D.C., individuals can't give more than $8,500 to candidates for elected office or $5,000 to PACs in a election cycle. In Maryland, individuals can't give more than $10,000 to candidates during a four-year cycle. Both say they they studying the ruling.

CIA TERROR REPORT VOTE - 2:30 p.m. The Senate Intelligence Committee's expected vote to approve declassifying part of a secret report on Bush-era interrogations of terrorism suspects forcing the CIA &White House to speed up release of the most detailed accounts about the government's actions after the 9/11 attacks. Intelligence officials are furious and say the move could damage the CIAs ability to stop terror threats. Bad blood between Senate and the CIA spilled out last month as Sen Diane Feinstein accused the CIA of monitoring Senate computers. Hart Building 219.

VIRGINIA GIRL GETS LAW - 4:00 pm Mark and Ellyn Miller lost their 10-year-old Gabriella to a brain tumor in October 2013. Gabriella started a foundation to raise money for awareness and research. The effort has lived on and brought together bitter political rivals like the President and Republican House Leader Eric Cantor. Today the Millers will be in the Oval Office as President Obamas signs Cantor's "Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act" into law. The new law redirects $126 million earmarked for political conventions to instead fund pediatric disease research by the Common Fund at the National Institutes of Health.
