16-Year-Old's Dreams Come True When She Meets Idol

Posted: Updated:

Ebony Nettles-Bey's dreams came true when she met her idol, Lebron James, during a Miami Heat game near Madison, W.I..

Nettles-Bey is fighting cancer at the age of 16 and is a huge admirer of James. He came through town and she knew she just couldn't miss the opportunity.

"It was an unforgettable experience. I didn't think it was going to happen," said Nettle-Bey. "I didn't know what to say. I was just speechless."

Nettles-Bey also plays basketball and even got to warm up a little with James and the team before the game.

"We just had a normal conversation. He was really laid back and cool. That's what I liked about it. He didn't try to act like a superstar or anything," said Nettles-Bey.

That night, James even wrote some special words of inspiration on his shoes, "Ebony Strong."
