MACON, Ga. (AP) - Georgia Department of Corrections officials say they're investigating the death of an inmate at the Central State Prison.

Department spokeswoman Lisa Rodriguez-Presley tells the Telegraph of Macon that Jeffrey Lee McDonald was severely injured in a fight at the Macon facility on March 14 and was pronounced dead March 28. McDonald was serving time on child molestation charges.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said the man suffered a head injury. It's unclear if charges have been filed in McDonald's death.
