Three children and two adults were killed Saturday evening in a three-vehicle crash on I-10 near Picacho Peak.

The Department of Public Safety says a Ford F250 pickup truck lost a tire as it was heading west down I-10 north of Picacho Peak.  The driver lost control, veered into the eastbound lanes of the highway, and crashed into a tractor-trailer that was hauling a semi trailer.  A third vehicle, a passenger car, then collided with the pickup truck.

The victims in the Ford pickup were pronounced dead at the scene.  DPS has identified the two adults as Shelly Renee Blackmore, 49, and Danielle Blackmore, 20, both of Gilbert.  Two of the children were 12 years old and one of them was 8 years old, and they also lived in Gilbert.  Their names have not been released.

The driver of the pickup, 47-year-old Tracy Blackmore of Gilbert, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
