BROOKHAVEN, Ga. (AP) - At least four people are facing drug charges after a hotel was evacuated amid fears of an explosive device just northeast of Atlanta.

Police in Brookhaven were called to a Holiday Inn on Chamblee Dunwoody Road Thursday, after employees reported possible drug activity involving hotel guests.

Police say they encountered the suspects as they were exiting a hotel elevator. They say one man ran from officers to a nearby Phillips 66 gas station and somehow made it to the roof of the gas station.

Police tell FOX 5 News that officers surrounded the gas station, and were eventually able to apprehend the suspect.

Police Lt. Brandon Gurley says that officers removed a suspected explosive device, which had prompted the evacuation of hotel guests for several hours.
