Strong winds are bringing down trees, street lights and power lines.

As a result, PECO reports that power has been knocked out power to thousands of homes on this cold morning.

The outages are affecting the following number of customers in these local counties:

  • Bucks: 1143
  • Chester: 865
  • Delaware: 217
  • Montgomery: 331
  • Philadelphia: 377

Those figures were dropping throughout the early morning.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley reported from Lansdowne, Delaware County, where a tree was laying across the roadway and resting on power lines.

PECO needed to respond before work could begin to remove the tree, and a crew got on scene just after 6:30 a.m.
