Vandals Hit About 40 Cars In Bristol Township Neighborhoods

Posted: Updated:

"It went right through the window and it was sitting on the back seat," said Wendy Palmer as she held a rock she found inside her SUV Saturday morning. It was parked in front of her home on Hawthorne Street surrounded by broken glass.

"Everybody's a little uneasy about parking their cars in the street now," said Wendy.

Bristol Township Police say someone vandalized about 40 cars in different neighborhoods Friday night into Saturday morning. Repairs through insurance is costing Wendy $500.

"I'm very mad," she said. And so is John Dougherty.

"I went to bed at about 15 minutes after 11 o'clock and I heard a pow," said John. He lives a few blocks over in the Appletree section of Levittown.

"It was like a car came down here and they had a supply of rocks and they just came down and threw them," said John. His SUV is one of six vehicles hit on his street.

"We would love to catch this person," he said.

Across the street, Michael Ravert had the police report he filed.

"It's senseless violence. I had a GPS in my console and it was still there so it wasn't robbery," said Michael. He paid more than $100 to get his window fixed.

"Things are kind of tight as it so it's just another expense that we didn't need right now."

Whoever did this has people on edge especially since they're still out there.

"You wake up one day and you find out that you've been violated. For weeks you heard about people slashing tires in Philly. Then one day something happens to you and it hits home," said Michael.
