World Stages showcases talent from top artists

FOX 5’s Holly Morris helped the Kennedy Center kick off a lineup of talent from some of the top artists from around the globe.

Green Tea Roulade
Prepare one 31.5cm x 23cm baking tray
Ingredients:
6 egg whites
9 egg yolks
100 + 60 cm caster sugar
90 gm plain flour
25 gm corn flour
50 ml olive oil
3 tbsp hot water
2 tsp Maccha (Japanese green tea)
Whipping cream

-Preheat oven to 220C. Line baking sheet with parchment paper on a greased baking pan. Stir in green tea powder into hot water and mix thoroughly. Mix plain flour and corn flour.
-Whisk egg yolks with 100 gm sugar untii smooth, creamy but not bubbly. Stir in tea powder mixture.
-Whisk egg whites until bubbles form. Mix in 60 gm sugar until stiff peaks form.
-Fold in egg whites to egg yolks mixture, 1/3 portion at a time. Sift in flour to the mixture. Then quickly add in oil.
-Pour batter in the lined baking tray and level. Bake for 1015 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and transfer to wire rack. Let the cake cool down.

Filling:
-Chill mixer and mixing bowl in fridge for 15 minutes. Beat whipping cream with caster sugar until smooth and creamy.
-Turn the surface of cake onto a large paper. Peel off the baking paper. Spread filling evenly and roll the cake.
-Cut edges to complete. For best results, keep roll in fridge before senring.
