Having Fun With The Unpredictable Good Day LA

Posted: Updated:

You never know what's going to happen on "Good Day LA" that is definitely an understatement.  Each night I prep for whatever interviews I might have the following day and try to stay on top of the day's stories.

Today my assignment was to  interview Sam Harris with Steve Edwards.  Sam's the guy who 30 years ago won "Star Search" with that unbelievable rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

He went on to become a multiplatinum recording artist and songwriter not to mention Tony-nominated stage and television actor, writer, producer, and director…wow did I get it all in?

He has just written a book called "Ham: Slices of a Life" it's basically what he calls essays and stories from his life and career.  It jumps back and forth from his childhood in Oklahoma and being not quite like the others to his life in the public spotlight.  It is very funny at times, the chapter about going to Liza Minnelli's wedding is a must read, I mean seriously it's crazy what went down.

Here's the link to that interview!  And if you want to follow Sam on twitter: @SamHarris.

Now onto the unexpected part of my day.  Actor Billy Baldwin stopped by the show to talk about the 2014 Freestyle World Cup in Wrestling taking place this weekend at the forum. In case you didn't know he's a big supporter of the sport. That segment was for Maria Sansone and Steve Edwards.  But leave it to Steve to rope me in!  I had been joking all morning that Steve and Billy were going to wrestle.  Well guess what happened….see for yourself!
