Police search for a suspect who shot Spotsylvania store clerk

SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. - Spotsylvania County Sheriff's are on the lookout for a suspect who shot a 32-year-old female store clerk twice in the head during a robbery.

Police say the suspect entered the Fas Mart store at  the 11600 block of Brock Road around 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

Capt. Jeff Pearce of the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office says that the man pretended to purchase an item and when the store clerk turned away he shot her twice and fled the store.

The suspect is described as a 25- to 35-year-old white male with a goatee. He is between 5’4? and 5’7? and weighs between 160 and 170 pounds.

The  victim was transported to Mary Washington Hospital and later flown to Richmond in very serious condition but she's expected to susrvive.
