Weekend: Metro Center station closed Saturday, Sunday

Posted: Updated:
Metro riders, take note: The Metro Center station is closed this weekend, and that means you'll need to plan accordingly.

Metro says they'll be upgrading signage and lighting in the Metro Center station.  All Red, Orange and Blue line trains will pass through the station without stopping.

The Metro Center station will be closed Saturday and Sunday.  Free shuttle bus service will be offered between Federal Triangle, Metro Center and Gallery place.

Here are some other important weekend updates from Metro:

Trains on the Red, Yellow and Green lines will operate at regular weekend intervals, except at Greenbelt Station on Saturday only (see below). Orange and Blue line trains will operate every 20 minutes.

Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend: Daylight-saving time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 9. At that time, all clocks are moved ahead one hour. When that happens, it will become 3 a.m. EDT (new time), and the Metrorail system will close.  Riders should expect the last trains of the evening to move through stations between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. EST (old time).
