South Jersey Communities Show FOX 29 How They Handle Winter Weather

Posted: Updated:

Some of the most snow fell in our South Jersey communities today.

FOX 29's Drew Dickman shows us how people handled the winter weather in Millville, Cumberland County.

Trucks plowed snow off the streets of Salem County clearing the fresh powder since 7 in the morning.

"A lot of snow, cold, busy, hungry," plow truck driver Robert Suthard said, describing his day.

Along with snow, ice formed on some of the street signs in Millville.

After sweeping the snow off his vehicle, volunteer firefighter Richard Joslin took the family sledding.

"Having a truck it's a lot easier to get around, but it's not as bad as they called for anyway," Joslin said.

"I love doing this," Edwin Rosario said while shoveling snow.

Rosario has not grown tired of the winter weather, even after the 15th snowfall of the season.

He says he shoveled snow in front of his business for five hours.

"Because of the rain, it holds it a little better. It's easier to push because it sticks. If it was by itself, smooth, it would be harder," Rosario said.

Robert Nixon also cleared a path with the help of his snow blower.

He says he'll do the same for his neighbors.

"That's what neighbors are for. To help each other out," Nixon said.

Plow truck drivers told FOX 29 they will work on the main roads through town until they're completely black.
