Daughter Surprises Dying Father With Early Wedding At The Hospital

Posted: Updated:

A daughter in Greensboro North Carolina was not letting cancer stand in the way of her dream wedding.

Krystal Whitesell was scheduled to get married in June, but decided to move the wedding up so her father could be there.

"I love my daddy. I wanted him to be there," she said.

Krystal's dad, Kenneth, has cancer and doctors told her he was not making any progress with his treatments. She decided on Monday that not only would she move her wedding to Friday, but she would have the wedding in the hospital!

She told her dad she changed the wedding date but wanted the exact day to be a surprise.

The nurses at Moses Cone Hospital turned into wedding planners and got Kenneth from the ICU to the alter.

"This is the best day of my life," said Kenneth.

Kenneth was able to give away his youngest daughter and give her fatherly advice to last a lifetime.

"Good luck. From the bottom of my heart I love you all. If you just take care of each other you will all be fine," he said.
