2 men set to change pleas on weapons, drug charges

Posted: Updated:

PHOENIX (AP) - Two men facing weapons and drug charges arising from a raid on a Yavapai County property are scheduled to change their pleas Friday.

Kirby Kehoe and his son, Cheyne, had previously pleaded not guilty to charges of illegally possessing firearms and body armor and intent to distribute marijuana.

Authorities say they seized guns and ammunition when they raided Kirby Kehoe's property near Ash Fork in October.

Both are banned from possessing guns because they have previous felony convictions.

Authorities say the Kehoe family was involved in a plot to overthrow the government and establish the Aryan Peoples Republic in the Pacific Northwest.

The elder Kehoe maintains he was never involved in his sons' efforts to establish a whites-only nation.

Cheyne Kehoe's attorney has said his client has disavowed white supremacy.
