US AFGHANISTAN WITHDRAWAL - The White House's 2014 Afghanistan troop drawdown is quickly turning into a complete withdrawal. After an tense phone call Tuesday, President Obama is now ordering the Pentagon to speed up plans for a full U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan by the end of the year. Obama spoke with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, the first direct conversation between the two estranged leaders since June. The administration is deeply frustrated with Karzai, who has refused to sign a security agreement that the White House says is key to keeping U.S. troops stationed in Afghanistan.

HEALTHCARE SIGNUPS - Remember when the administration said they planned on having 7 million people signed up on for Healthcare by March? Well, March is on Saturday the number is going to come up a couple of million short. New federal numbers now say 3.3 million people, or less than half the goal have enrolled through the end of January. Last night at a fundraiser for his political organization in DC, the President blamed the numbers on the botched website launch and the opposition of Republicans who he says have continued criticism of the program rather that helping find solutions to improve it.

MILITARY SEX ASSAULTS - 10:00 a.m. The US Armed Forces have been under increasing scrutiny over how it handles sexual assaults in its ranks. Some Senators want civilians involved in the military justice system currently handling cases. The military says that would destroy the chain of command. Today at a Senate hearing, victims and experts are expected to deliver dramatic testimony on the relationships between military sexual assault, post-traumatic stress disorder and suicide. It will also delve into how The Pentagon & VA medicals services treat victims of sexual trauma. Russell Building 222. SCHOOL SODA AD BAN - For years schools districts around the country have been striking deals with soda companies. The deal usually goes like this: You give us new scoreboards or equipment, we'll let you slap your logo on whatever you give us. Now, First Lady Michelle Obama's anti-obesity campaign is zeroing in on these types of arraignments. The administration is moving to end junk food advertising on school scoreboards and on school grounds. It's a new phase of the First Lady's campaign. But schools who've faced funding cutbacks from state and federal governments say they'd been forced to find private-public partnerships because of the the governments lack of support.
