Raddish Cooking Kit: Olympic Foods

Posted: Updated:

Preparing a healthy meal for your kids that gets them involved in the kitchen is now a whole lot easier thanks to Samantha Barnes who created Raddishkids.com: a monthly subscription box of culinary adventures.

Samantha Barnes' commitment to changing the way kids and families eat was born from her experiences as a middle school teacher and mother of two. Realizing that many of her students were young foodies but lacked the knowledge and kitchen experience to make healthy lunch choices, Samantha launched Kitchen Kid in 2006, a Los Angeles based cooking school with the hope of inspiring young people to jump into the kitchen and start cooking!

Raddish is a monthly subscription box delivering culinary adventures and family fun right to your door. Each themed monthly box takes the guesswork out of how to get children cooking and families eating well. It was based by Southbay mom and entrepreneur Samantha Barnes.

Raddish is about bringing families together in the kitchen and at the table. Children who help out in the kitchen are much more likely to become adventurous eaters. Washing or peeling vegetables can give them a sense of empowerment and get them excited to eat vegetables! Culinary instruction cultivates a diverse palate, increases self-confidence and helps build a solid foundation for a healthy future. Raddish was designed by teachers and their recipes also incorporate math, science, nutrition, geography and history. Countless studies prove that families who eat meals together raise healthier, safer and more successful children.
