National Harbor's newest addition arrived this afternoon, in the form of a giant Ferris wheel!  The Capital Wheel has been making it's way to the D.C. region on a barge from Baltimore, coming down the bay and up the Potomac River.

The wheel, which will soar 175 feet above the Potomac, arrived a little earlier than expected.  There's some assembly required, since it's easier to transport in pieces.  Now, it will be unloaded and put together.

It will debut to the public in May, and will operate year-round.  The wheel will have 42 closed, climate-controlled gondolas which will seat eight people each.

The ride will run you $15 per person, and riders will be treated to views of the Washington Monument, the U.S. Capitol, Alexandria, Prince George's County and beyond.
