SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

Dozens of heart transplant recipients gathered to celebrate life on Valentine's Day. The group is attempting to set the Guiness World Record for the largest gathering of heart transplant recipients.

About 135 people gathered at Art Moran Buick GMS Showroom in Southfield. The information has been sent to Guiness.

Recipients, ranging in age from young and old alike, gathered from all over Michigan and a few other states.

Forty-five percent of adults in Michigan are registered organ donors, up from 27 percent in 2011.

Visit www.michigan.gov/sos for more information on organ donation.
