PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix-area fire agencies say they fought at least three residential fires overnight, but no injuries were reported.

Scottsdale fire Battalion Chief Rod Thompson says the Scottsdale and two other departments battled two fires in Scottsdale late Thursday. Causes of both are under investigation.

He says crews responded to a fire in an apartment's attic. It was quickly contained, and Thompson says four units had fire, smoke or water damage.

The agencies also responded to a house fire. Thompson says flames spewed through the roof, but the fire was contained and no one was home.

Phoenix fire Capt. Ruben Saavedra says a fire in southwest Phoenix was contained to a garage, where the home's occupants were doing laundry.
