Man attacked with sword in Detroit during robbery attempt

DETROIT (WJBK) -- Police say a woman attacked a man with a sword in Detroit during a robbery attempt.

The Detroit News says the man was walking in the area of Joy Road and Stout about 6:40 p.m. Thursday when a man and woman approached him.

Police say the woman used the sword to slice a 5-inch gash into the side of the man's head. Nothing was taken. The wounded man called 911 and was taken to a hospital. Deputy Chief Rodney Johnson says the man was listed in stable condition.

No arrests were immediately made. Police are seeking tips from the public in the search for the suspects.
