DETROIT (AP) -- Three people are facing an important court hearing in the case of a 4-year-old Detroit boy who was accidentally shot to death by another child.

Robert Richardson, Patricia Johnson and Harvey Witcher are charged with involuntary manslaughter. Authorities say they were present in a home when a 4-year-old girl picked up a loaded gun and shot her cousin, Jamel Witcher Jr.

The children were playing together before the incident and have been described as very close. A judge must decide whether there is probable cause to send Richardson, Johnson and Witcher to trial. A hearing is scheduled for Friday in 36th District Court.
