Metro makes service changes ahead of winter storm

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON - With winter weather moving into the D.C. region, Metro is canceling late-night bus service after 1 a.m. on Thursday morning.  They say MetroAccess service for riders with disabilities will also be suspended for Thursday morning.

Of course, Metro says as the weather moves in, more changes to Metrobus and Metrorail service are possible for Thursday.  Those changes will be updated based on weather conditions and the forecast, which is constantly changing.

Metro says scheduled Metrobus trips that connect with the last trains of the night are expected to operate, but all other Metrobus trips that originate at or after 1 a.m. will be canceled.  Metrobus trips that originate before 1 a.m. will continue to their final destination, even if the arrival time is later than 1 a.m.

MetroAccess service will be restored when it is safe to do so, but a time for restoration isn’t known yet.
