2 boats catch fire on DC Waterfront

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

Two boats caught on fire on the D.C. Waterfront Tuesday afternoon.

The owner of a 44-foot cabin cruiser tells FOX 5 a smaller boat docked next to his caught fire and spread to his boat.

Other witnesses say they heard a small pop, like a little explosion, and then saw flames and smoke that almost blocked the view of the 11th Street Bridge.

Fire and rescue boats had to tow the bigger boat away so it would not do any damage to other boats docked nearby.

There are no reports of any injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
