DETROIT (WJBK) -

On Tuesday, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced assault charges against Cass Tech Quarterback Jayru Campbell.

Campbell faces two counts of assault: 1. Attempt to do great bodily harm. 2. Aggravated assault.

The charges against Campbell, a 17-year-old junior, stem from his alleged actions taken against a school security guard in January.

Video posted online (see above) claims to show Campbell body slamming the security guard as school let out on Jan. 22. A number of students captured the incident on cell phone cameras
