PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

It's not the first person you'd expect to see in the produce aisle at the local supermarket but Friday Fabio was signing autographs at a Whole Foods store near 16th St and Camelback, in Phoenix.
 
"I came in here and found out Fabio is gonna be here so why not," said Jocelyn Saccuci.

He looks like he walked off the cover of a romance novel the model taking time to meet fans, sign autographs, and pose for photos.

"It's awesome and I meet people personally and I love taking pictures with them... it's a lot of fun," said Fabio.

"He's an icon, he's the most famous cover model ever so why not... and because I write romance novels," said Kris Tualla.

Long lines of people waiting to talk to the handsome Italian model, not a bad turnout for someone who never had a starring role in a movie. But this instantly recognizable man has done a lot of TV and plenty of commercials.

"Phoenix was one of my first cities I visited in the United States and I love it" said Fabio. Fabio was speaking at whole foods in phoenix today.. Selling his new whey protein.  He's passionate about healthy eating! "Mine is real whey... the most powerful protein in mother nature most of the people don't know what real whey is," he said.

All kinds of fans came out to meet Fabio even look alike's including James Magnussen a fellow model for romance novels.

"The man is definitely a genius at what he has done," said Magnussen.

Don't be heart broken if you missed him today. Fabio is meeting fans at the Whole Foods in Chandler on Saturday and in Scottsdale on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
