What It Takes To Become An "Idol"

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Every Wednesday and Thursday, millions watch young hopefuls sing for the chance to become American's next superstar. "American Idol" Season 13 has already featured some incredible singers, including many who auditioned right here in Atlanta.

Our cameras followed some of those hopefuls during the callback auditions held at the W Hotel in Midtown back in October. The process is an intense one, as young singers wait in line, and then a "holding room" before being taken to sing for judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick, Jr. Warner Robins-native Kiandra Richardson, just minutes before her audition, told Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken, "There's so much going on in my head it's ridiculous, I wouldn't even be able to tell you one thing, but I'm excited, I'm nervous, I'm happy, and I'm like...oh my gosh...what am I doing?" Meanwhile, Atlanta's Neco Starr said, "This is your spot, this is your moment, and you have to own it...so whatever that is, if that is singing the most outrageous, loudest, most amazing song, you have to do it."

So how did they do? Are Kiandra and Neco going to Hollywood? Click the video to find out!
