OBAMA IN MARYLAND - 11:10 am One week to the day that President Obama delivered his State of the Union speech, he's still on the road trying to sell his proposals. Today that road takes the President up to Adelphi Maryland.  That's where the President will visit Buck Lodge Middle School in to tour a classroom and deliver remarks detailing progress toward his ConnectED goal of connecting 99% of students to next-generation broadband and wireless technology within five years. The President is announcing commitments from U.S. companies totaling about $750 million to connect more students to high-speed Internet. LIVE: www.whitehouse.gov

VIRGINIA MARRIAGE EQUALITY - 10:00 am  In two Virginia courtrooms hundreds of miles apart, the fight to upend Virginias ban on same sex marriage will begin today. In Harrisonburg and Norfolk, cases will be heard challenging Virginias ban as unconstitutional. The Democratic Attorney General of the Commonwealth Mark Herring has already announced that he will not defend the 2006 ban and hopes it is overturned. There are thought to be as many as 15,000 same sex couples who could marry if the ban is overturned. No matter what these lower courts deceive, expect Virginias ban to wind up in DC at the US Supreme Court LINK: http://www.oag.state.va.us

NSA ONLINE REQUESTS - 10:00 am How many times did NSA request information from internet companies about their visitors? Perhaps more than you may think. Today the House Judiciary Committee considers reauthorizing the special court that approves requests.  Meanwhile new figures released by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Facebook, LinkedIn and Tumblr have shed new light and new criticism. The numbers from 2012 and 2013 reveal companies such as Google and Microsoft were forced by the government to provide information on as many as 10,000 customer accounts during a six-month period. Yahoo went along with government demands for data on more than 40,000 accounts in the same period. CONGRESSSONAL MARIJUANA HEARINGS - 1:30 House Republicans haven't exactly been thrilled with the Obama Administration on a number of subjects, but the Presidents willingness to support the targeted legalization of medicinal and recreational marijuana strikes at the heart of Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No" campaign in the 80's and the heirs to Reagan's legacy are ready to strike back. Today the House Oversite  Committee will bring the Presidents Director of National Drug Control Policy before a congressional hearing to explain the White Houses position on marijunia use.  GOP members says it sends a conflicting message about drugs to young people and adults.
