Off The Beaten Path: A Trip To Tallapoosa's West Georgia Museum

Posted: Updated:
WEST GEORGIA, Ga. -

This month, Good Day Atlanta is traveling "Off The Beaten Path" -- every Monday, we're searching for unique Georgia attractions that are worth taking the trip. And it doesn't get much more unique than Tallapoosa's West Georgia Museum.

Inside a 15,000 square-foot facility, dinosaurs share breathing room with native Haralson County wildlife, and a turn of the century barber shop is on display near a hand-made giant model of the Lithia Springs Hotel. The astonishing array of exhibits is the work of dedicated community members who came up with idea for the museum back in 1990, and moved to this new building ten years later.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken will be our tour guide this month (after all, what better person to examine the weird and unusual?!?) -- click the video above to see his trip to the West Georgia Museum!
