Jack Supple, the owner of Lake Maid Beer, thought he finally found a genius way to deliver beer to fishermen out on the ice: a beer-delivering drone.
"I don't think the beer will be too shook up at all," said Supple
After his company's youtube video/pseudo-commercial went viral last week, people started chatting about the idea. The growing popularity and almost-execution of it is burdened by the FAA regulation against drones for commercial use.
Lake Maid has now begun a "guerilla" marketing scheme drawing in support for the use of drones for beer delivery: "drop beer not bombs."
Some resorts on Lake Mill Lacs have already agreed to become Lakemaid beer ports that send and receive drone deliveries, in case the FAA eventually creates regulations.
