ATLANTA -

We all know the power of social media and how quickly things can get around including a computer model that is forecasting snow within the next two weeks.

The post was going around Friday showing the European Model, the computer weather forecast that accurately predicted this past week's snow in Atlanta, predicting show for north Georgia once again.

FOX 5 Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Ken Cook says that forecasters typically don't comment specifically on long-range forecasts like this one because past ten days they aren't as accurate. He says that meteorologists use the data generated by such computer models to create a forecast that is more accurate. Even three days out, such models aren't as accurate without a meteorologist "massaging" the forecast to better fit all available data.

So, will there be more snow in the next few weeks? Let's get past this weekend's forecasted rain and we'll know more.
