OBAMA STATE OF UNION - 9:00 pm President haven't always delivered State of the Unions in person (George Washington wrote Congress a letter) but it's become an annual event in Washington, with big goals but usually allot more grand statements than grand achievements. Tonight, President Obama delivers the State of the Union message tonight on Capitol Hill. Early indications are Obama will try to point the finger of blame at Republicans for the problems of the past year, threaten to use his Presidential authority to bypass Congress and set up a national argument Democrats hope they can use to recapture the House in November's midterm elections. House GOP Conference Chair McMorris Rodgers gives the Republican response.

FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE - President Barack Obama is set to put his signature on an executive order which will now establish a new minimum wage for workers under new federal government contracts at $10.10 an hour, the White House said This morning.
The raise from from the national minimum wage of $7.25 an hour won't change existing federal contracts, only the brand new ones into the future. Also moving forward, contract renewals won't be affected unless the other terms of the deals change. States like Maryland are already moving to pass local minimum wage increases, but it could create a patch-work across the county between state that do - and don't have a

FARM BILL DEAL - After 2 years of intense infighting, negotiations and accusations it appears there's a deal now to pass a new Farm Bill. You may say: "I don't live on a farm, why, do I care about the farm bill?" Well if you eat food, if shop for food, if you drink milk, wear cotton or depend on food stamps: it affects you. There are cuts to food stamps - $800 million a year, or around 1% for Republicans say it spent too much money, but they are low enough that some Democrats will support them. The deal also eliminates a $4.5 billion-a-year farm subsidy called direct payments, which are now paid to farmers whether they farm or not. The bill continue to heavily subsidize major crops - corn, soybeans, wheat, rice and cotton

OBAMACARE HEARINGS - 10:00am On President Obama's big night, Republicans are going to spend the day reminding Americans about the biggest headache the White House had in 2013: the launch of the Affordable Healthcare Act. Two hearings will look into both the website problems and warning that were ignored, as well as the impact the coverage mandate is having on small businesses. The House Oversight and Government will look into the website security problems and how some people in charge of setting up the site were worried it wasn't ready. At the same time, The House Ways and Means Committee looks at the effect on small business hiring after the Obamacare employee coverage mandate
