Terminally Ill Father Walks Daughter Down The Aisle

Posted: Updated:

A North Texas Father, given just two weeks to live, got to walk his daughter down the aisle at her wedding, almost an entire year earlier than planned. The father of the bride, Joey McClure, has terminal cancer. His daughter Tori changed her December fourteenth wedding date to January twenty-fifth so he could play his part in her wedding.

Tori was left to plan her wedding in a little more than two weeks. But she had a lot of help from church members, family, friends, and even strangers. "I was not stressed at all, we were just hanging out having fun ," said newlywed Tori Stixrud.

Everything from the bride's dress, to the tuxedos, to the flowers and even the cakes and decorations were donated. Many of the vendors providing services came from the Dallas Bridal Show. "We brought all the vendors together within a week to set this up, and normally planning for a wedding can take up to a year," said Chevy spokesperson Sara Leeper.

"I'm excited and happy, I mean it was amazing and there were so many people there supporting us," said Stixrud.

Tori's father Joey said he was happy he could be there on his daugher's special day. "I'm thrilled to be able to walk her down the aisle to fulfill her dreams, and to make her day complete," said McClure.

Tori Stixrug and her husband Kevin met at the First Assembly of God in Mesquite.
