Phila School Officials Investigating Inappropriate Conduct Complaint

Posted: Updated:
Southwest Philadelphia -

School officials are investigating a complaint of inappropriate conduct between two elementary school students.

Investigators with Special Victims Unit were called to Thomas G Morton Elementary after a parent of a first grader reported they were inappropriately touched by 4 grade students. Parents are stunned.

Parents of students couldn't believe what they're hearing.

"Scary because I would like to know what's going on in the school I don't like to be surprised and just hearing about this is shocking," Parent Trine Anderson said.

The Philadelphia School District confirms police were called here after a first grade student told their parents they were inappropriately touched by a 4 grade student on Tuesday. The parents reported the incident to Morton's principal today who in turn called police. Exact details of what happened were not disclosed.

"I have a 4th grader and a 5th grader and hearing some sexual conduct that is going on." Sylvia Mcclellan said.

Parents tell us the school hasn't told them anything about the investigation. We visited the school but the principal told us to contact the school district. No some parents wonder what happened and what's being done about it.

"4th grader is a lot older than a first grader. My son is in first grade and if someone in a higher grade messed with my son like that we'd have problems if the school didn't do anything about it," Deanna Bosco said.

The school district says it's cooperating fully with police.
