Justin Bieber, R&B singer Khalil arrested in Miami

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Pop star Justin Bieber, 19, and R&B singer Khalil Sharieff, 19, were arrested early Thursday morning for drunken driving while street racing in Miami Beach, Fla., according to Miami Beach Police.

Bieber, who was behind the wheel of a yellow Lambroghini, and Sharieff, who was driving a red Ferrari, were allegedly street racing after leaving a club when police pulled them over and determined that both were driving under the influence.

The Miami Herald reports Bieber's entourage used their cars to block traffic so the teens could race.

According to arrest reports, several black SUVs blocked a stretch of Pine Tree Drive, where the drag race occurred. Bieber and Sharieff were driving about 55- 60 mph in a 30 mph zone.

When stopped, Bieber allegedly hurled F-bombs at Miami Beach police officers, refused to get out of his car and declined to take his hands out of his pockets. 

He was taken into police custody at about 4:13 a.m. He told cops he had consumed alcohol, marijuana and prescription medication, said Miami Police Chief Raymond Martinez.

Bieber and Sharieff were booked and taken to Miami Dade County Jail.

Bieber faces several charges including driving under the influence, resisting arrest without violence and driving with an expired license.

Singer Sharieff is charged with driving under the influence.

Both teens were arraigned Thursday afternoon. Judge Joseph P. Farina set bond for Bieber at $2,500. He left jail soon after.

The teen star posted video to Instagram a day earlier of himself and Sharieff at a skate park in Miami owned by rapper Lil Wayne. He also posted a photo of paparazzi presumably photographing him while on the beach.

Bieber has made headlines as of late for all the wrong reasons.

Police in California searched Bieber's house earlier this month and seized his phone. He is accused by a neighbor of hurling eggs at the neighbor's front door. One person inside the home was arrested.
