Kiefer Sutherland Hopes To 'Live Another Day'

Posted: Updated:

He's back! Kiefer Sutherland is in London, England right now shooting 12 new episodes of "24".  The mini-series of sorts is called "24:Live Another Day" look for it on FOX starting the beginning of May.

I sat down with the Kiefer the other day and he told me he's both excited and nervous about stepping back in to the role. The new episodes will pick up four years after we last saw Jack Bauer.  This time around He's going to be harder, he's angrier...He's fled the United States and has been in hiding.  The show will take place in London.  Mary Lynn Rajskub will be back in the role of Chole from the original series.  She says she was shocked when she got the call that the show was coming back.  Joining the show will be "Law & Order" star Benjamin Bratt.  He will play the head of CIA operations tracking Jack.

Kiefer told me the 12 new episodes won't have any impact on a potential 24 movie, that that's 'an ongoing situation'. "There's always an opportunity to do that. Howard [Gordon] came up with an idea for a 12-episode run at this, and it was the opportunity that presented itself to us first." He added: "It was a fantastic idea, and it's something that we're very excited about doing, and it's something that we're really primarily focused on. So, if this ends up rebooting the show or causing a film to be made, so be it."

Again, look for Jack Bauer and his crew on FOX beginning May 5 with a two-hour premiere.
