CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two people were stabbed in an apartment on the Northwest Side Monday morning.

About 6 a.m., a 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man were stabbed in the 3700 block of North Cicero Avenue, police said. The Chicago Fire Department was called to the scene.

After the two were stabbed, they were able to call police from a McDonald's restaurant at the intersection of West Addison Street and North Cicero Avenue, police said.

The girl suffered cuts to her face and other areas of her head, while the man was cut on his hands and neck. Both were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious condition, authorities said.

Chicago Police closed the restaurant and taped off the entire area while Area North detectives continued their investigation. FOX 32 News observed evidence technicians combing the scene, as well as cleanup going on inside.

Two people were taken into custody, though no charges were filed as of Monday afternoon, police said.

One of the people arrested also suffered injuries and was taken to Presence Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, but details on the person's condition was not known, authorities said.
