Man crashes pickup into sign, light pole on West Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man was injured when he crashed a Ford pickup truck into a construction sign and light pole late Saturday in the Little Village neighborhood on the West Side.

The 34-year-old man was northbound on Kedzie Avenue when he crashed the Ford F150 pickup into a sign and a light pole near 24th Street about midnight, police said.

The area where the crash happened is currently a construction site.

The man was taken in "stable" condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

Police said the cause of the crash was not immediately known.

No charges or citations had been issued as of early Sunday.
