Gary Jones, 35, the owner of the Sweet Soul Cafe and Lounge is behind bars, accused of second-degree murder and facing gun charges.

Police say he got into a fight with Cinaway Morson, 32, inside the restaurant Monday evening, shot him, locked up the cafe and left Morson to die.

Friends and relatives attended a vigil Tuesday night in front of a makeshift shrine at the lounge.

Crystal Jackson, the mother of Morson's four children, and other friends and relatives said he did not deserve to die. They said he had gone to the restaurant to try to resolve a dispute between Jones and someone else.

Police are not talking much about a motive and say their investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
